The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the verge of making othertrade for a former first-round pick.
The Bucs have agreed to a deal with the Chicago Bears for offensive lineman Gabe Carimi, pending a physical on Monday, a person informed of the intellecttold USA TODAY Sports on Sunday evening.
The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal isn't yet official, said the Bucs will send the Bears a 2014 sixth-round draft pick in change overfor Carimi, who hasn't attended the Bears' organized team activities.
The Chicago Sun-Times first describethe trade agreement. It's the second trade for Bucs GM Mark Dominik in less than two months. He acquired cornerback Darrelle Revis from the New York Jets in April.
Carimi, thetwenty-ninthoverall pick in 2011, struggled as a getupand slid inside to fend forlast season after a rookie season cut short by a knee injury in Week 2. The Bears' signing contractJermon Bushrod and drafting guard Kyle Long didn't help Carimi's chances of cracking theoutsetlineup.
It's unclear at this point whether Tampa views Carimi as a guard or tackle.
