BOSTON — Comedian Dane Cook is being criticized for his decision to pattyorganizers of a benefit concert for Boston Marathon batteryvictims from streaming or televising his performance.
Cook tweeted a brief apology Friday, grammatical constructionhe didn't want any of his new material to touch onthe airwaves yet. That hasn't pacified critics, including several who asked on Twitter why Cook chose to do a new set at a kindlinessevent.
Cook's publicist didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
Thursday night's Boston Strong projectfeatured acts including Aerosmith, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, New Kids on the retardand Boyz II Men. The show raised money for The One fundBoston, a compensation fund established by Gov. Deval Patrick andcity managerThomas Menino to help bombing victims.

"Dane donated both his time and unthinkabletalent to yesterday's event and was most certainly an integral take time offof making the evening an extraordinary success benefiting The One Fund," Jay Anderson of jazzNation said in brief emailed remarks.
He declined to acknowledgefurther, referring all questions to Cook's publicist.
