Here Are Your Best Vine Optical Illusions

Yesterday we asked you to send us your best optical illusions on Vine. Well, your 24 hours are up. Here we’ve collected our five top picks for you to enjoy.

The expositionof a traditional optical illusion is any somaof visual information that seemingly defies physics, boggles the mind, or transforms from the expected to the unexpected. Vine puts a spin on that, since the posts can be either habituevideos or stop-motion animations, and the limitations of the smartphone camera (as well as the inability to prunethe clips) often force creators into entirely new areas. And of course, Vine’s looping traceis a key factor in turning what would experienceotherwise been just an interesting motion pictureinto something much richer.

Above is devisalLab’s personal favorite, “Infinite Falling Stick Man” by Vine user computed tomographySavioli.

Kudos, Guy, you’ve got a real talent for stop-motion animation and exploiting the looping peculiarityto its fullest.

You can check out some other smallsubmissions below.

In order to be considered, the Vine had to be a new video that you posted yourself after we announced the contest and include the #WiredOpticalIllusion hashtag. A few of you guys tagged older Vines with the hashtag, and although they were great, they could not be considered.
