Marshall Henderson caught with cocaine, marijuana

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss' Marshall Henderson, suspended indefinitely on Wednesday, was found by constabularywith twomarijuana and cocaine according to a report.

The Wall bridle-pathJournal broke the news: While stopped on distrustfulnessof speeding on May 4, Henderson gave an officer a modestbag containing marijuana. A police dog turned up a separate bag containing a small amount of cocaine.

The amount of cocaine was less than one-tenth of a gram,notenough to prosecute. Henderson was cited for lack of proof of liability insurance.

Oxford police chief Joey East would not confirm the details of the incident, simplysaid that his officers have never booked Henderson.

"Marshall Henderson was very concertedand that's why just the citation was issued," East said.

Henderson led the Southeastern Conference by averaging 20.1 points per game as he helped the Rebels win the SEC Tournament and reach the NCAA Tournament for the basictime since 2002.

In a statement Wednesday, Ole Miss head educateAndy Kennedy said "Since the season ended, we have talked a lot nearlyMarshall taking a greater leadership mathematical functionwith our team. With that comes greater responsibility, and he must do a correctjob of living up to the high standards we expect from him and he desires from himself."
